The caregiving app for
organized care

AltuWell is a mobile care app that helps individuals and families organize and manage health and caregiving information in one place. Users can track medications and symptoms in real time, making chronic care easier to manage.

Built by people navigating chronic conditions, caregiving, and long term health journeys.

Caregiving today is scattered

Paper everywhere

Caregiving runs on sticky notes, notebooks, printed records, and handwritten medication reminders.

Apps that don’t talk

Patient portals, pharmacy apps, calendars, and hospital systems each hold one piece of a person's care — a medication list here, a result there — and never stay updated together.

Buried in conversations

The latest update lives in a group text, an email, or a phone call — scattered across the family members and caregivers who need it, and impossible to search back through.

Unsafe or unreliable storage

Screenshots, spreadsheets, and shared passwords put health records in apps that treated privacy as an afterthought.

What a caregiving app changes

Clarity, visibility, and a little more peace of mind

A caregiving app should do three things well — keep one shared record of what happened, make medications impossible to lose track of, and show the family what changed without anyone writing a status update. That is what AltuWell is built to do.

Shared journal

Keep everyone in sync

AltuWell's shared caregiving journal keeps symptoms, routines, and daily updates in one timeline the whole care circle can read. Log it once and everyone helping sees it, so nobody has to send — or chase — an update.

Medication reminders

Never wonder if the dose was given

Medication reminders in AltuWell record which dose was given, by whom, and when, then share that with the care circle automatically. Adherence streaks, refill dates, and food instructions are all visible without anyone having to ask.

Quiet trends and patterns

Spot what’s working, sooner

AltuWell reads back the journal you have already kept and surfaces the patterns in it — a symptom that tracks with a food, a harder week after a dose change — as plain observations to raise with your provider. It organizes what you log; it does not diagnose.

How the caregiving app works

Set up in an afternoon

Setting up the caregiving app takes three steps — an AltuWell profile for the person you care for, invites for everyone helping, and a habit of logging a little as you go.

Add yourself or the person you care for

Start an AltuWell profile for yourself or the person you care for — birthday, conditions, allergies, and nothing you would rather not enter. One profile per loved one keeps two people's records from tangling.

Invite your loved ones

Send a link or QR code to family, caregivers, and doctors. You choose what each person can see — the full history, or just today's medication schedule — and you can change or revoke it later.

Log a little, worry less

Add short notes, tick off doses, and upload labs as they arrive. The care circle stays current on its own, without anyone having to keep a text thread alive.

Common questions

What families ask about the caregiving app

What is a caregiving app?

A caregiving app is a shared place for the information a family keeps track of when someone needs care — medications and doses, symptoms, appointments, test results, and documents — so everyone helping can see the same, current picture instead of piecing it together from texts and sticky notes. AltuWell is a caregiving app built for households where more than one person helps.

Is my family’s data really private?

Encryption in transit and at rest, US-only storage, no sale of any data, ever. We’re HIPAA-minded throughout the beta and will execute BAAs with covered entities at launch.

What does the beta give me?

Every part of the caregiving app, with nothing held back for a paid tier: the shared journal, medication tracking and reminders, centralized records and test results, exports, and unlimited invites for the family and caregivers helping you.

Who’s it for, exactly?

Households where more than one person helps with care — a kid with a chronic condition, an aging parent, a partner managing recovery. If a single calendar isn’t enough, you’re in the right place.

Will it work with my pharmacy / portal?

Manual entry today. Apple Health and a handful of pharmacies are next; full portal sync (Epic, Athena) is on the roadmap for late 2026.

Is AltuWell a mobile care app?

Yes. AltuWell is a mobile care app for iOS and Android — the day-to-day logging, medication check-offs, and care-circle updates are built for a phone. There is also a web app for the heavier lifting: reports, exports, and doctor handoffs.

How much does the caregiving app cost?

Nothing during the beta. Every feature — the shared journal, medication tracking, records, exports, and unlimited care-circle invites — is free while we are invite-only, and we will tell beta families what pricing looks like well before anything changes.

Can I export everything?

Yes. PDF for clinicians, CSV for spreadsheets, and a full JSON archive whenever you want it. Your records stay yours.

How do I invite family and friends?

Open the profile of the person you care for, choose Invite, and send a link or QR code by text or email. Each person you invite gets exactly the access you pick — a co-parent or spouse can see everything, while a weekend caregiver might see only today's medication schedule. You can change or revoke anyone's access at any time, and there is no limit on how many people you invite.
