General Privacy Notice for AltuWell LLC
AltuWell LLC (“AltuWell,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the information you share with us. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the AltuWell website, applications, beta programs, early access features, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

We use this to run the Services, keep them secure, detect fraud, and diagnose problems.
We count visits to our website using Matomo, analytics software we run on our own infrastructure. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device, your IP address is shortened before it is stored so it no longer identifies you, and no advertising network, data broker, or other third party receives any of it. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record the visit at all.
This is separate from the product analytics described next, which cover the app and are off unless you turn them on.

AltuWell does not use user-entered symptom logs, medication records, caregiving notes, journals, or similar health-related information for behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.

AltuWell does not disclose user-entered symptom logs, medication records, caregiving notes, journals, or similar health-related information to advertising networks or data brokers. Health-related information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf solely to provide, host, secure, maintain, support, or improve the Services.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and applicable legal requirements.
When you delete your account or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our active systems. For 30 days you can tell us the request was a mistake and we can restore it. After 30 days, your information can no longer be restored.
Where your information is stored on backup systems, deletion may be delayed to enable restoration of those systems, but no longer than six months from when we authenticate your request. We notify every provider that received your information and direct them to delete it as well.
We may keep a limited record of the deletion request itself, and information the law requires us to retain, such as transaction records for tax purposes. We do not keep your health information for these purposes.

AltuWell accounts are for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or join a care circle.
Information about a child may appear in AltuWell when a parent or legal guardian records it as part of caring for them. In those cases the adult enters the information; the child does not. We do not collect information directly from children.
A child whose information appears in AltuWell has privacy rights over that information, and a parent or legal guardian may exercise those rights on their behalf. See Section 7.
If you believe a child has created an account, or that information about a child has been provided to us improperly, contact us at hello@altuwell.com and we will remove it.
The Services may integrate with or rely upon third-party tools, APIs, cloud providers, analytics services, communication providers, or external platforms.
Our website analytics are not among them: as described in Section 2, we run that software ourselves and no third party receives the data.
AltuWell is not responsible for the privacy, security, or practices of third-party services.
Your use of third-party services may also be governed by separate privacy policies or agreements.
The Services are intended primarily for users located in the United States.
If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that information may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States or other jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
We may update this Privacy Notice periodically.
If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Services, by email, or by other reasonable means.
We will post any updated Privacy Notice with a new “Last Updated” date. Where an update affects consumer health data, we will obtain your affirmative consent before the changes take effect.
